Lineworkers serve on the frontlines of our nation’s energy needs, and on April 13, 2020, Grand Valley Power will honor the men who work in challenging and often dangerous conditions to keep the lights on in Mesa County.
We are proud to recognize all electric lineworkers for the services they perform around the clock in difficult conditions to keep power flowing and protect the public’s safety.
“Line crews work around the clock, sometimes in difficult and dangerous conditions, to keep power flowing to our local communities. Whether they’re restoring power after a major storm or crisis or maintaining critical infrastructure to our electric system, lineworkers are the first to bear the weather - and they don't stop until the lights are back on,” said Grand Valley Power communications manager, Christmas Wharton.
Grand Valley Power is proud to honor the 16 lineman that maintain 1,676 miles of power lines in our service territory.
To honor not only our lineman crews, but also our employees for their dedicated work during this pandemic, GVP plans to serve our employees Berna B's breakfast burritos. GVP will also honor the many men behind our power from the last 80 years on social media with a video and #ThankALineworker hashtag.
GVP invites all co-op members to take a moment and thank a lineworker for the work they do. On April 13, use #ThankALineman or #ThankALineworker on social media to show your support for the men and women who light our lives.
