Billing Change

Your Grand Valley Power billing date is moving. 

Grand Valley Power is changing when it bills some members for their electricity usage. Members who received bills for service from the 16th of the month to the 15th of the following month will begin receiving bills for service for a complete month (i.e., from the 1st of the month to the last day of the month).

Why is Grand Valley Power making this change?

This change will

  • Help us prepare for our transition to the new power supplier in 2028.
  • Provide members the convenient benefit of being billed for a calendar month.
  • Reduce Grand Valley Power's billing expenses.
What will change?

What will change? You will receive your electric bill earlier in the month, and it will be for the electricity you used in the previous month (i.e., from the 1st day to the last day of the month).

What else can I expect on my December bill?

Will the Grid Connectivity charge be prorated on the bill that I receive in early December for the partial-month bill that I receive for service November 16-30? Yes, the Grid Connectivity charge will be prorated on the partial-month bill that you receive in early December for service November 16-30. 

What if I do not make the payment for my November 16-30 usage by the December due date? If for some reason you do not pay the bill that you receive in early December before you receive your next bill in early January, you will not incur late fees for November 16-30 usage until the end of January.

How will this billing change affect my ACH (automatic) withdrawal if I have one?

If your automatic payment date occurs on the 10th of the month, a Grand Valley Power member support representative will call to discuss your options. Automatic payments scheduled on the 18th, 5th, or 25th of the month will continue to occur on those dates.
