H.E.L.P. is Here
Even in the best of times, everyone needs a little help, and now Grand Valley Power offers HELP to our members. Home Energy Loss Prevention is a program that GVP offers to our members free of charge.
HELP is a home energy audit program designed to assist GVP member’s with everything from high bills, to energy consumption, to trouble shooting. Home energy audits can point out which appliances use the most energy, where possible air leaks are, and in some cases which appliances might be starting to fail.
Grand Valley Power will perform a walk-through audit and collect information. An infrared camera will be used during the months of December, January, and February to assist in identifying building envelope weaknesses. During all other months of the year, a walk-through analysis will be performed taking inventory of electrical appliances. We will bring the history of the electric consumption and sit down and discuss the member’s concerns and goals of energy consumption. The walk-through will require about one hour to perform.
Once the audit is complete, the member can assess priorities in their energy conservation plan based on recommendations made by the auditor. To schedule an audit, call our office at (970) 242-0040 and talk to Derek Elder, Member Services Manager.
